Mapping of the Dutch Windward Islands

St. Maarten
Featured Project

One of our projects (in co-operation with KLM-AEROCARTO) was the mapping of the Netherlands Antilles, i.e. the islands St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius, islands of the Dutch West Indies, by means of aerial photogrammetry and ground-control by GPS. In 1994, Landmark Geodetic had the privilege of being a part of the new digital maps for the Dutch Windward Islands (i.e. St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius) which was completed from the KLM-Aerocarto aerial photogrammetry with the addition of street names, house-numbers, and district names etc. that were collected through field surveys. Processing this collected data on our interactive graphic systems help produced the final files and maps.
